Finding my spark
As a former attorney, I became used to being in a constant state of high stress without any type of proper selfcare. My job was all about proving my worth. I had no personal life and no boundaries. This ultimately drove my whole body to feel burnout, needing to sleep for long periods when I did have downtime and migraines. I fell out of passion with my work.
I thought that I found my way out of that when I left corporate to become a yoga teacher. But once again, I came to be feeling so drained and stuck from living a life that I knew did not align with me. Then I got sick after selling my yoga studio a few years ago. As a result, my entire body would collapse, leaving me unable to move. I’d have to climb back out of being sick and run down to get back to trying to do more. At that moment, I realized I had been unconsciously neglecting myself while navigating high levels of stress for a long period of time.
Then it hit me: why wait until I was sick to take care of myself? Maybe if I developed a routine of mindful selfcare practices, I would be able to remain calm, focused, peaceful, healthy and happy on a daily basis. I decided to experiment with different ways to incorporate mindfulness into my day-to-day life and to learn to live more authentically and intentionally.
Soon I felt much better and was able to reconnect with who I was and what I wanted. In addition, I dove more deeply into mindfulness training, learning how our nervous systems work and how to truly tame exhaustion and get back to feeling fulfilled. I learned more about the importance of implementing boundaries and upgrading my beliefs. Having succeeded in embracing wellness and finding confidence, I feel compelled to help you align with your purpose and get back to loving your life.
